Tattoo Removal Price

Tattoos seem like a good idea at the time, but most are regretted, sooner or later. They can be a cause of years of embarrassment, the area never being revealed to the gaze of others, even if this means wearing clothing inappropriate for the weather. More importantly, they can put off potential employers.

There is no way known at present to completely remove all tattoo pigments without leaving either tattoo pigment behind, or some sort of mark. With all methods of tattoo removal it is therefore important to understand the choice you make and whether you are happier to have ink remaining, or some sort of mark or scar. The quality and type of mark or scar left can be variable and this depends upon how you as a person heals and where on your body the tattoo is.

Mr Coady uses a range of techniques, both surgical and non-surgical to remove tattoos. He will be able to advise you on the best and most cost-effective method of removing your tattoo.

Laser
Mr Coady does not use lasers to remove tattoos. Most doctors treating tattoos know that Lasers will only work for a very limited number of colours , mainly black and some reds. It also takes an average of ten sessions to remove any tattoo using laser, and sometimes up to twenty. Even then, a lot of people are very disappointed with the result, having spent a lot of money. If you have a professional tattoo in black ink only, laser can work quite well. Lasers can leave visible scar, but usually leave scar underneath the top layers of skin which is much less visible. They work by dispersing the tattoo ink into your body which then eliminates them via the immune system. We do not really know what effects many of the pigments have on the body when theya re released in this way.

Trans Epidermal Pigment Release (TEPR)
This is a up to date variant of an old technique to remove tattoos. Mr Coady currently uses the Tatt2away system and is the first doctor in the UK to do so. Tatt2away uses a natural chemical introduced into the skin to eliminate all tattoo colours and all but the largest tattoos. It requires an average minimum of 5 treatment episodes. Very small tattoos can be removed in one to two treatments. The skin then takes some time to recover and settle before a further treatment can take place. This is usually a minimum of 12 weeks. This does not commonly produce an “invisible” result. It usually leaves a mark varying from subtle to obvious depending upon how you heal, the site on your body and how carefully the aftercare is followed. Occasionally it can leave troublesome scar. However, this mark is usually better than surgery, certainly better than a skin graft and we have found it superior to any other method currently available.

Surgery
Small tattoos may be removed in a single outpatient operation under local anaesthetic getting rid of all pigment and leaving a line scar. Occasionally it may take two operations to produce a line scar. Bigger tattoos can be removed and the area skin grafted, but this leaves a very obvious result with different texture and quality skin. Scar quality varies according to how you heal and the site on the body.
